Direct Debit information.
This page sets out how BACS Direct Debit works for engagement bookings with Ivybridge Counselling, including the protections you receive under the Direct Debit Guarantee.
About BACS at this practice
Where you elect BACS Direct Debit at checkout, the engagement fee is collected from your nominated bank account by Stripe Payments UK Ltd as Service User on behalf of Ivybridge Counselling. There is no rolling Direct Debit — each engagement is a single one-off collection.
How Direct Debit works for booking
You complete the BACS authorisation through Stripe's secure checkout. Stripe submits the instruction to your bank. The single engagement fee is collected on the agreed date. You receive an email confirmation.
Service User information
The collecting Service User is Stripe Payments UK Ltd, an FCA-authorised payment institution acting on behalf of Ivybridge Counselling. The Service User Number is allocated to Stripe; your bank statement will show "Stripe / Ivybridge" or similar.
Advance notice
You will receive at least three working days' advance notice of the amount and date of any Direct Debit collection — typically by email confirmation at the time of booking.
The Direct Debit Guarantee
This Guarantee is offered by all banks and building societies that accept instructions to pay Direct Debits.
- If there are any changes to the amount, date, or frequency of your Direct Debit, Stripe (or Ivybridge Counselling on its behalf) will notify you 10 working days in advance of your account being debited, or as otherwise agreed.
- If an error is made in the payment of your Direct Debit by Stripe or your bank or building society, you are entitled to a full and immediate refund of the amount paid from your bank or building society.
- If you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when Stripe asks you to.
- You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by simply contacting your bank or building society. Written confirmation may be required. Please also notify Ivybridge Counselling.
Cancelling the mandate
You can cancel the BACS instruction at any time via your bank. Please also notify me at Alishaali2389@gmail.com so I can update the engagement record.
Disputes
Direct Debit disputes are handled via the Direct Debit Guarantee through your bank. Engagement-level disputes follow the Raising a Concern procedure.
Security of bank details
I do not see or store your bank details. They are handled directly by Stripe under PCI DSS and FCA compliance. Stripe's privacy notice is available at stripe.com/privacy.
Regulatory information
The BACS scheme is operated by Pay.UK. Stripe Payments UK Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under the Electronic Money Regulations 2011 and the Payment Services Regulations 2017.
